Holy Week Worship
You are invited to join the Immanuel community as we walk with Jesus on this final leg of His journey to the cross.
On Palm Sunday, at our 8am and 10:30am worship services (April 10), we will wave palm branches and shout, “Hosanna! Hosanna in the Highest! Blessed is He Who comes in the name of the Lord! Hosanna!”
During the Education Hour, David Garrett from Jews for Jesus will present, “Christ in the Passover” (see this link for more information).
At Maundy Thursday worship (1pm & 7pm, April 14), we will recall Jesus’ institution of the Lord’s Supper and His connection to the Passover meal as the Lamb of God, the One who has come not to be served but to serve, and to give His life as a ransom for many. The 7pm service will conclude with the powerful Stripping of the Altar, symbolizing Jesus being stripped of His power and glory at His arrest in the Garden of Gethsemane.
The Good Friday Tenebrae services (1pm & 7pm, April 15) include a gradual fading of light in the sanctuary, symbolizing the gradual flight and denial of the disciples and friends of Jesus, until all is dark. Before the service concludes, however, the Christ candle is brought back into the sanctuary, a glimmer of light that reminds us of Christ’s victory to come on the third day.
